The Joys of modding

Okay, so Downloading a 20 or so Morrowind Mods might not completely kill your framerate, but it definitely drops it a bit. But it is totally worth the slightly jaggier animation, seeings as the pre-modded graphics are atrocious beyond reason.

(Elder Scrolls R T3h Pwnzor!!!!!1!! Lo!)

You might notice that the character outlines look a lot smoother, and less jagged. I've been goofing around with my technique a bit, and I think I've finally found a way that works well.

I personally like the Mog Mods. Playing as a moogle is fun. I also got Cloud's Advent Children Sword!... I couldn't find a halfway decent Master Sword mod... plus, moogles and Cloud's sword are from the same series... makes it cooler or something.

I personally try not to get into the mods that add to the game, only the ones that improve it, like face replacers and the 'better Bodies' and 'better clothes' mods. I'm a bit of a purist that way. (Though, if I ever found a Master Sword mod, I download it Immediatly)

;)

Meh, I don't feel that way. The way I see it, is that when they made Morrowind, they made it so that you the gamer has the choice in what happens and what you do. (heck, they even say that in the instruction booklet) Thus, the mod tools are provided... that and I just think it's cool to kick butt as a moogle. KUPO! ...Yes I am insane... you can stop staring at me now.

I'm not really an FF fan, I've only played a few games, and have never beaten one...

The FF7 movie, Advent Children, sucked, despite some awesome duels and cool music.

I want to play the game though, which I hear was many times better. I rented Crystal Chronicles, but had o return it... I lent my copy of Tactics Advance to a friend and he lost it... The ROMs I downloaded killed my old computer, (Though I almost beat FF4. Go Cecil, Squall's got nothing on you.)

IN THE NAME OF ADVENT CHILDREN! *attacks*

...Excuse me, I must kill you now for disrespecting Advent Children.

Anyways, FFVII is considered to be one of the greatest Final Fantasy games of all time. It's main villian Sephiroth is known as the greatest Video game villan squaresoft has ever created. Thus why he managed to get a spot as a bonus boss in both KH and KH2... wait, why am I telling you this anyways...

I DID beat KH and KH2, I can say that, if they count as FF games.

Let's face it, Advent Children made entirely no sense. Not to mention that two of the villians were gay, and the other was mentally retarted,

'Where's Mother?'

'I'm not crying!'

'Hey, I found mother, she's inside this biohazard box!'

'Wait, that box is empty!'

'Oh no! Mother must have dripped all along the freeway in that epic and flashy duel we had with Big Brother!'

'NOOOOOOOOO!'

'Hey I think there's some mother left!'

'OOOH! Chug! chug! chug!'

'Aw, I wanted to drink mother...'

'Oh, stop crying you baby.'

'I told you, I'm not Crying!!!! And at least I'm not Gay like you Yahzee!'

'Hmph! Talk to the hand.'

'You're a big fat meanie head.'

'Oh, nice Loz. Meanie head, I'm sure that hurt Yazhee deep down inside.'

'Shut up!, you're gay too!'

'Am not, I'm a tenor.'

'You're a Eunuch.'

(Jack Sparrow pops up oout of nowhere.)

'I knew it!'

(Yazhee shoots Jack in the back and then blows up for some reason. So does Loz.)

Actually, Advent Children does make sense if you've played Final Fantasy VII and stuff. I didn't get it the first time I saw it until after I managed to get my hands on a copy of FFVII.

Though you're right, the two villains were gay and the third was retarded. Sephiroth sure picked a strange way to be ressurected... Then again, what can you expect from one of the greatest villians ever created that also happens to be a crossdresser with an oedipus complex?

And the Advent Children discussion continues...

Well, I'll get back to you after I beat the game and I'll tell you wether the movie made more sense then or not.

And, even though I haven't played FF7, I do have a fairly good knowledge of the
game in general. Like, I know who the characters were, I knew how Aerith died, I know that Vincent Valentine is undead, and was in love with Sephiroth's mother, (Or something like that.) I knew that Zack was Cloud's friend from his hometown, I knew Yuffie was a thief who ws obsessed with Materia... and so on, and so forth. I also understood what Jenova, or 'mother' was. It wasn't the content or mythology that confused me, the plot was just pointless. There was no reason or Kadaj, Yaazu, and Loz to be loooking for Jenova, the movie was too short for the proper amount of explanation and backstory. And what the hell did the kids have to do with his evil scheme? They did absolutely nothing except turn into a bunch of zombies for aout 20 minutes, and then turn back to normal. And after that, the movie just became a FF7 character showcase, rather than an actuall movie. The many secondary characters played too little a role in the movie, excluding maybe Vincent. You can't make an hour and a half long movie when an hour of it is non-stop fighting and the other half hour is nothing but meaningless talk about absolutely nothing important. The only scene that offered any explanation at all of what was going on was the one where Vincent was talking with Cloud, and even that was only about 5 or 10 minutes long. It might of worked for a three hour movie, but Advent Children was altogether to short for its plot, or it just had too many really long fight scenes.

Wow, this is a interesting debate... we should get a third party going in this one. Someone else review dangit!

Mods and Movies

As a modder, yes, they can dramatically hurt performance (a poorly written set of code can actually break functions you thought were unrelated, or alter certain behaviours that you didn't touch). But as a whole modding is a very productive and enlightening expirience, for both the maker and reciever.

About Advent Children- I didn't pay nearly enough attention when I ran through FFVII, so to me the movie made very very little sense. I kinda got it, but... when I left the movie I had a long discussion with my coworkers at my theatre, which mostly consisted of "WTF?"

I agree that the movie could have been longer and better spaced out, with more filling in between fights to help it make sense. The characters didn't have much of a chance to show their depth at all.

Okay, and maybe it was a bit harsh for me to completely say the movie sucked... I enjoyed it for the most part... but it still could have used some work.

It was definitely good for a laugh though. (MOTHER!!!!!!) heh heh.

I'm surprised Ranorian hasn't joined the conversation yet, He was with me when I watched that movie.

Listen, the reason that the three of them are looking for Jenova, is because of Geostigma. Anyone with Jenova's cells in their body is experiencing it during the movie, so anyone who was in SOILDER, like Cloud was, or just other people that got them (through reasons I forget) were experencing great moments of pain in specific areas that became discolored on their skin. Their own body's immune system is fighting against the Jenova cells, thus causing the Geostigma. The reason this is happening? Because something about Jenova's Genetics is calling Sephiroth back. The three dudes that look like Sephiroth but with different hairstyles are dudes like Sephiroth, dudes made entirely out of Jenova cells. So they know what's going on and stuff. Though the main leader, whatever his name was, knew that Jenova wanted Sephiroth back, rather then them, he was a loyal little mindless drone and actually did as he was told. That's why they were looking for Jenova's head. They needed Jenova cells in order to resserect Sephiroth. So yeah... it's actually a good plot if you manage to get what the hell was going on. First time I watched it I was like, what the hell is going on?... Oh who cares, giant swords and cool battle scenes will occupy me until I can manage to get an idea on what the hell is going on.

Also, Vincent's genetic structure was tampered with by the Shinra Corperation, same guys that caused Sephiroth to first be made and stuff. That's why his limit breaks let him turn into those things if you've ever played FFVII

My neighbor's a big FF fan, bigger then myself. He knows stuff... and forces me to memorize it.

I get all that stuff, but I only got it after watching it twice or thrice. The plot had potential, but it wasn't explained in enough detail. In a good movie, you should be able to basically understand what is going on, even without playing the game, or seeing the prequel to the movie, or reading the book is based on, etc... The movie didn't have enough depth. It might has well have been one really long cutscene that you could paste at the end of FF7.
